Steve Crump, who is currently on educational/sabbatical leave and away from parish responsibilities, returns on July 1.

He reports:

If you're going to General Assembly in New Orleans this month, I hope to see you there.  For me, GA is a big county fair --so many simultaneous events vying for one's attention with little time to rest. Pace yourselves, good people.

But make every effort to attend The Service of the Living Tradition, Thursday, 6/22, 8pm.  In that service, Beth Williams will be acknowledged for completing her full-time ministry and Nathan Ryan will be recognized for receiving Final Fellowship by the Ministerial Fellowship Committee.  This service is open to the public. No registration fee is required.

I am off on yet another field trip, this time to Orlando, the location of InfoComm, the largest, annual tech-event in this hemisphere. Then, it is back to the mundane and finishing what I had promised myself: to search my files and secure church data and specific documents for our church archives. I am also pleased to report that my home study desk finally got cleaned and cleared of debris during this sabbatical. The desk got several coats of polyurethane, for which it seems grateful.  But not all things piled on the desk were ready for the shredder. On the contrary, I took delight in these quotations which I retrieved for you:

If you're going through hell, keep going.  (Winston Churchill)

If you don't like something, change it.

If you can't change it, change your attitude.  (Maya Angelou)

If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.  (Nadine Stair)

[In Steve's absence, Nathan Ryan is serving as Acting Ministry Team Leader and Diana Dorroh is serving as Executive Assistant.]
