The month of April brings the celebrations surrounding Easter, which always has opportunities for fun music in the services. On Palm Sunday, the choir will sing an introit that uses the traditional text from Jesus's entry into Jerusalem:  "Hosanna in the highest." The choral anthem will be a cool arrangement of the spiritual Ride On, King Jesus.

For the Tenebrae service on April 13, members of the choir will sing songs from the Taizé tradition to support the quiet and somber character of this special service.

On Easter Sunday, the choir returns again to sing Mozart's Alleluia as an introit, and a fun historical anthem from the Shaker tradition called Ye Followers of the Lamb. We will also be joined by a string trio to make this Sunday a memorable one.

For Sunday services on April 30, we'll be joined by classical guitarist Eric Liffman, who has played for this congregation many times, and who we always enjoy hearing.

We're searching for new volunteers who would be interested in learning to help run the sound booth for Sunday services. No experience needed, just a willingness to learn. Email music.office@unitarianchurch.com for more information.

If you're interested in providing flowers for Sunday services to commemorate a special event or to honor a loved one, sign up at the table in the fellowship hall after each service, or speak to Kristie Boudreaux
