OUTREACH

Becky Cureau, Director of Outreach

Our service project this month will be a morning of service at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank's warehouse on Saturday, March 4 from 8am to 12pm, when volunteers will sort and box commodities for delivery to distribution centers.  Our church's long partnership with the Baton Rouge Food Bank includes donations to the Food Cart, and our periodic services at the warehouse.  Both contribute to the Food Bank's goal of providing food to the needy in Baton Rouge and the surrounding communities which it serves.  The Food Bank is one of several community agencies to which we provide volunteer service. First-time and repeat volunteers enjoy the camaraderie of working together with other members, many often meeting each other for the first time,  sometimes forming new and lasting friendships.  If you have not experienced the fun of a volunteer service project, stay tuned for the next opportunity.  Can't wait?  Email rcureau@cox. net  by March 2 to join the Food Bank team on Saturday, March 4.
