Cakes for the Queen of Heaven, Part I In Ancient Times

Repeats every 2 weeks every Monday 5 times.

Monday evenings, February 20, March 6, March 20, and April 3, 7pm: Cakes, Part 1, classes at the home of Suzanne Besse in the Tara subdivision. In Ancient Times introduces participants to ancient Goddesses, weaving their stories together with major concerns of women today. 

The five-session adult religious education curriculum includes an introductory section featuring author Shirley Rankin's "Statement of Feminist Thealogy," Elinor Artman's "Brief History of Cakes" and Nancy Vedder-Shults, "Baking Cakes for the Queen of Heaven." The themes of the 5 Session Plans are:

1) February 20: The Sacred Female

2) March 6: In The Name of the Mother and the Daughter

3) March 20: Woman Power

4) April 3: The First Turning: the Shift from Goddess to God

5) April 17: Reclaiming Women's Heritage of Peace
