The easy answers are gone for those who have significant losses or suffering in their lives. For some, religion may have become a dry well for comfort or meaning. What have we been taught compared to what we now believe about suffering? Our minister probes this subject and offers his most recent viewpoint on the subject of suffering. The choir returns. |

This Sunday we speak of the unfolding vision for the months ahead in our church. We point the way forward in our religious community. We connect our lives with something meaningful, worth living for, worth being in community for. We speak and sing of a promising future. Our combo Ross Hoppe, piano, and Dave Hinson, bass, and the choir offer music for the morning. |

Money, Love, Life and Death
As part of Women's Week in Baton Rouge, there will be a workshop in the Fellowship Hall from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM featuring four well-known women who will speak from their expertise in law, financial planning and mental health. They discuss these four profound topics, Money, Love, Life and Death, as they specifically relate to women. Guest Speaker for Women's Week
Friday evening, Oct. 1, British Author, Physician and Mystic, Dr. Christine Page will speak at our church. Dr. Page is being brought to Baton Rouge for Women's Week by Red Shoes. The Adult Growth and Learning Council of our church is partnering with them for this event. As an international speaker, she sees herself as a messenger and bridge builder between different worlds whether this includes modalities of health care or levels of consciousness. Author of six books, the best known being Frontiers of Health.Her latest is 2012 and the Galactic Center:The Return of the Great Mother published in September 2008.
