HRSJP Advocacy Work

William at Podium

William Winters was hired last fall to perform advocacy work in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. A graduate of LSU in philosophy, William has been involved with progressive organizations and causes in the Baton Rouge area for six years. At the HRSJP, he was tasked with building a coalition of organizations that are working on affordable housing. At left, William facilitated the Community Dialogue on Katrina and Race on Aug. 30 at the church.
Although William has completed his term with UCBR and Public Allies, he has been working tirelessly to advocate justice for the Jena 6. To find out more about the Jena 6 or join the email list-serve dedicated to their advocacy, email William at William Winters.
