For adult education opportunities click here

Children meet at 9:30 and 11:15, and youth meet at 11:15 each Sunday morning for age-appropriate classes where they explore Unitarian Universalist principles, sources and heritage through hands-on experiences. Once a month we offer full and mini All Community Worship services instead of classes. We also sponsor special events for all ages.

Beyond Sunday Morning

  • YRUU Youth Group (Grades 9-12) - Sunday evenings

  • Branches for Youth (Small Group Ministry) - various times being developed

  • Roots and Wings rite of passage program for Grades 2-3 - Saturdays in the spring

UCBR Religious Education Philosophy & Goals

Unitarian Universalist religious growth and learning is the process of individual and community evolution through exploring, discovering, loving, sharing with others and developing social concern—all with wonder, honesty, and hope. This process requires freedom, responsibility, knowledge, and action.

The goals of UU religious growth and learning include:

  • to develop self-understanding and self-acceptance, both inner and outer self
  • to develop acceptance and appreciation of others
  • to explore and evaluate concepts, beliefs, and principles
  • to appreciate the wonder of nature and the universe through art, symbols, worship, and science to learn about and understand our religious movement and heritage
  • to have fun and celebrate, especially rites of passage
  • to develop the tools for change and for moral and ethical decision making
  • to put ethics into action, striving for a more just and gentle world
  • to build a sense of community
  • to inspire each individual to strive for his/her fullest potential
  • to remember, recognize and be exemplars
  • to develop interpersonal skills
  • to learn to take responsibility for our lives and actions
  • to come to terms with ultimate reality

At all grade levels, we accept and teach diversity of race, religion, class, sexual orientation and gender identity. All people have inherent dignity and worth.
