Our shared offering recipient for the month of March 2019 is Planned Parenthood.

Holy Grill Director, Tonia Causey, met with a group of regular Holy Grill volunteers during a visit to our church on February 11. Her visit was part of a current initiative of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, which sponsors the daily meal.

Unitarian Universalists and Lent

Words to Live By

Whether or not you religiously observe the season of Lent, as Unitarian Universalists we are always called to a healthy spiritual discipline that heals the brokenness of our lives and our world.

- Associate Minister

It’s Lent. What are you planning on giving up or taking on? Growing up I learned that Lent was a time to give up something you normally consume that you know you shouldn’t – cigarettes, sugar, soda, etc.

- Music

By Leah Hartman, Music Program Director and Trey Davis, Choral Director

In March, the choir will join us on the 17th and the 31st.

- Interim Senior Minister

I’ve noticed that my southern accent is beginning to come back. Those of you who were in church on January 27 know that I grew up in a small town in Central Florida in the 50s and 60s.

- Governance

In November at a town hall meeting, members of the Nominating Committee met with members of the church to discuss the ministerial search process and the desired qualities of those who will serve on the search committee.

- Social Justice

Our shared offering for the month of February is UCBR Days for Girls (UCBR DfG), a grassroots nonprofit creating a more dignified, humane and sustainable world for girls through advocacy, reproductive health awareness, education and sustainable feminine hygiene.
